Work Day #1
Today the team--Angel, Todd, Gary, and I--hit the ceiling in the enclosed breezeway between the fellowship hall (where the service yesterday was held)/classrooms and the church building. Scott went to help at Bernard's house (including PVC, the tiny shavings of which he does not particularly like having combined with sweat all over his skin).
The island builders construct their homes like their renowned boats--solid...the ceiling is being constructed by interlocking wooden boards. With help from Ron Hamme and Chad, we spent a long day working. My primary role was to transport, measure, and cut boards into lengths being ordered from the rest of the team.
We made good progress-- got through a lot of the tricky geometries, but didn't get to the turn down to the other door. This will be on the agenda for tomorrow along with putting up gutters.
